CANADA’S TOP EMPLOYERS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE (2025)
CRH Canada empowers employees’ professional passions
T
aylor King says when
he decided it was time
to grow up and move
out of his parents’
basement, he went
looking for a company where
he was not only going to learn
a trade, but get the support he
needed to mature as a person. It
didn’t take him long to find both at
CRH Canada.
“They give you a million opportunities to succeed, make sure you
have all the training you need and
the mentorship here is fantastic,”
says King. “If I didn’t come to
work at this company, I probably
wouldn’t have matured to be the
person that I’ve become. It’s been
an amazing experience.”
Working here, I’ve
never wondered what
the grass looks like
elsewhere – or the
concrete, for that

Project Superintendent
CRH Canada has been
operating for over a century and
is one of the country’s largest
building materials and construction companies. Headquartered
in Vaughan, Ont., its building
materials, construction services
and solutions are widely used in
construction projects of all sizes
across the country.
King joined Dufferin

a number of positions before his
most recent promotion to project
superintendent. His work involves
organizing schedules, engaging
with owners and subcontractors,
and ensuring the project is kept on
time and on budget.
King says he gets satisfaction
from seeing the projects he works
on with his team go from a set
of drawings to a materialized
structure.
“The company brings you closer
to the people you work with and
empowers you to feel proud of
what you’ve achieved. It’s this
sense of accomplishment that
keeps me showing up every day
and loving what I do.”
CRH Canada takes as much
care in prioritizing its employees’
well-being and providing a solid
foundation of essential skills
as it does in building roads and
other infrastructure, says Emma
Schindler, vice president, business
intelligence, solutions, transportation and logistics.
“We put people first and
ensure they’re always our priority,
whether we’re dealing with an
employee’s health and safety or
career development,” she says.
“We want to make sure that
when the day’s over, we send our
employees home better than they
were when they came to work.”
King has also progressed due to
the company’s focus of promoting
from within and giving employees
the tools they need to design a
life-long career at CRH Canada.
As well, he appreciates the
benefits that help him prepare for
life after work, like the company’s
retirement plan.
The company also exposes
employees to the bigger corporate
picture as part of their career
development. King got a grounding in what each function of the
company does as part of his early
days with CRH. Recently, he had
