Crowe calculates the formula for employee success
R
ochelle Goodridge
never imagined she’d
be working at an
accounting firm but 12
years after she joined
one, Crowe BGK LLP still feels
like home.
“It’s always interesting,” says
the office coordinator, who has
grown into multiple different
roles over the years. “I like being
challenged.”
At first, Goodridge, who studied
in the arts, wasn’t convinced an
accounting firm would provide
many opportunities for career
growth — but she was quickly
proven wrong.
I’m growing individually
but also as part of
a team. I’m always
learning new things.

Office Coordinator
Crowe BGK fosters collaboration and mentorship through everyday workplace connections.
As the Montréal-based
accounting firm has grown, so
has Goodridge’s career trajectory.
Starting in the assembly room,
where final tax returns are put
together, then moving to proofreader and now office coordinator,
Goodridge was provided training
and support at every step.
“I was able to grow in different
ways and I appreciated that they
allowed me to do that,” she says.
In some ways, Goodridge has
followed in the footsteps of office
manager Jennifer Amato. Sixteen
years ago, Amato got her start in
the assembly room, then became a
proofreader and office supervisor
before landing in her current role.
Amato and Goodridge’s parallel
paths are a green flag for Crowe as
an employer, Amato explains.
“It shows that there’s room for
growth,” says Amato. “Crowe
recognizes that and gives you the
opportunity to evolve.”
Promoting from within is
embedded in the culture at Crowe,
leading to self-perpetuating
upward mobility and employee
satisfaction, she says. “If there’s
ever an opportunity for growth,
I will always make sure my team
has the same experience I had.”
Both Goodridge and Amato
have seen the firm evolve
over time, with more than 250
employees, 37 partners and several
new industries served today.
With that growth comes
increased responsibilities, and
Crowe — which got its start in
1950 as a small practice with three
partners — has responded by
providing employees with the
resources needed to succeed.
“The firm has grown significantly, and it’s appreciated to see how
they have adapted and evolved
along with the times and culture,”
says Amato. “Every role
is important.”
The additions have also seen the
firm create completely new roles
to keep pace as services evolve,
adds Goodridge, whose current
position is an example of a new
role created to fill a need.
“I didn’t replace anybody,” she
says. “This was created for me as I
was growing. We’ve expanded by
moving people up in all different
directions.”
Over the years, Crowe has come
to feel like a second home to
Amato, thanks to its welcoming,
comfortable atmosphere. And
feeling like family is a two-way
street, she explains.
“They understand family priorities,” she says. “Crowe recognizes
your efforts and helps you in times
when you need it the most.”
One way Crowe supports
employees is through hybrid work,
