Roth has uplifting stories to
tell too. One involves a man from
Victoria who was considered a
terminal case. His doctor told him
in readiness to prepare to face the
inevitable. Then he got a call from
BC Cancer inviting him to take
part in a new immunotherapy trial.
He did, and now, three years later,
is cancer-free.
“To go from essentially
being at death’s door to cancerfree is a miracle,” Roth says.
