responsible for analyzing and
interpreting complex data sets.
“Our mission is to help
employees make smarter decisions
faster and make it really easy
to work with the data we have,
collaborating with teams across
the organization,” says Moeller.

“It’s a small enough company
that you get to know everyone,
and you feel like you can influence
change, yet it’s large enough that
there’s so much going on with
unique challenges in every corner
of the business.”
As a University of Regina
engineering graduate, Moeller

analytics became his passion, he

Moeller is currently working on
an ongoing major project before
returning to analytics. He says
people are often given a stretch
opportunity to step in and try
something new on a temporary
basis.
“SaskEnergy will invest in its
people and give you opportunities
to try new things,” says Moeller.
“You’re encouraged to be curious,
share your ideas. If you show an
interest in an area, you’re often
afforded the opportunity to get
involved or expand your skill set.”
Kevin Adair, executive vice
president, customer service
operations, says SaskEnergy
has created an environment
where people are allowed to
be inquisitive and look at job
opportunities that are outside of
their primary discipline.
“We provide the opportunity
for people to explore, and Scott is
a great example,” he says. “If you
want to come here and pursue
educational opportunities that
align with the future needs of the
company and match your career
objectives, we provide educational
support.”
Analytics is increasingly
important as it provides a
common language and shared
insights that help different
departments understand each
other’s perspectives and work
together more effectively.
“Collaboration has been a
major focus for us — finding
ways to break down traditional
organizational barriers and have
people work together,” says Adair.
“Data analytics allows you to
pinpoint or give guidance to really
identify the true issue, to see how
it impacts across the organization.
“It’s about taking information
— whether it be weather,
environmental or operational
data — and combining those in a
way where everybody can come to
the same table with a conversation
about how their respective
discipline impacts that outcome.
It allows all of us to make quicker
and more confident decisions,
both for daily operations and
long-term forecasting.”
