SASKATCHEWAN’S TOP EMPLOYERS (2026)
Methodology
How the 2026 winners were chosen
S
askatchewan’s labour
market — among the
healthiest in the country
— maintained one of the
lowest unemployment
rates last year. With growth in sectors
ranging from health care and social
assistance to manufacturing and
construction, along with federal
infrastructure investments and
trade diversification underway,
the province’s economy is poised
to remain one of Canada’s most
productive.
While Crown corporations will still
be major players in the employment
landscape, growth can be seen across
a wider range of industries, especially
in the private sector. Organizations
seeking top talent will need to adapt
to this evolving economy by prioritizing employee needs and flexible benefits, along with initiatives that strive
to instill confidence and strengthen
communities.
To determine competition winners,
employers are compared to organi-
zations in similar industries and of
similar size. Employers are evaluated
on eight selection criteria, which are:
(1) Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere &
Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family
Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5)
Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training &
Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.
While the underlying criteria have remained consistent since the project’s
inception, areas of review have expanded and evolved with the advent
of new programs and policies.
Examples include
6
hybrid and remote
work options, family-friendly benefits,
and training opportunities.
Now in its
21st edition,
Saskatchewan’s
Top Employers represent the most
progressive and forward-thinking
organizations in the province.
