Two years ago, SAIT increased
employees’ mental health benefit
amount to $3,000 a year. They also
have access to Headversity, an app
with tools to help manage stress
and encourage mindfulness.
“There’s a lot going on in the
world, and we want to make sure
our employees have the support
and resources they need,” Rappel
says. “We want to empower employees’ personal and professional
journeys and foster a workplace
where everyone can thrive.”
That supportive atmosphere is
embedded throughout the organization, she adds. “It’s a very downto-earth campus. Employees
are passionate about what they
do, and there’s a real spirit of
collaboration. There are so many
meetings with departments across
the institution where employees
come together to work on a project
or solve a problem because we
enjoy working together. It’s a very
positive culture.”
