initiatives that employees are
passionate about, offering space,
tools, labour and expertise.
“We had one employee who got
involved in an organization called
Sleep in Heavenly Peace,” Carter
says. The Edmonton charity
provides free beds for children in
need, unhoused people moving
into new accommodations and
immigrant families. PCL ended up
donating warehouse space where
employee volunteers built beds
out of donated materials.
“We encourage our employees
to find opportunities to give back,”
Carter says.
