Culture sweetens careers at Mondelez Canada
A
fter finishing
business school,
Lexie Lubov was
looking for a job that
would be a good fit
for her interest in marketing. Then
she attended an event held by
Mondelez Canada, a subsidiary
of the global food company
offering such well-known brands
as Cadbury, Oreo cookies, Ritz
crackers, Clif bars and Sour Patch
Kids candies.
“Everyone talked about how
Mondelez was home to these
iconic, culturally relevant brands,”
Lubov remembers. “They said
that I’d be working on a team that
would be constantly pushing new
ideas, innovations and exciting
campaigns to connect with
consumers in new ways.”
People might join

Now the brand manager for the
company’s candy and cough drop
marketing division in Canada,
Lubov says that while she joined
for Mondelez’s portfolio of brands,
it’s the company’s culture that’s
kept her there for five years,
moving from role to role within
the company’s marketing team.
“People might join because of
Mondelez Canada is a collaborative and inclusive workplace where employees at every level are encouraged
to share their ideas.

culture,” Lubov says. “Employees
feel valued and supported and
inspired knowing that they can
continue to grow their career and
be part of a team that cares about
each other.”
Liza Manocchio, chief human
resources officer for Mondelez
and a 25-year veteran at the
company with a broad international career, describes it as a
people-centric culture that drives
results. “We have a very upbeat,
solutions-oriented environment
where people come together to
celebrate achievements, to learn
from one another to collaborate
on creative solutions to business
challenges,” Manocchio says. “It’s
truly a dynamic team culture.”
Career planning is one way that
Lubov says Mondelez attracts and
encourages employees. “Wherever
your passion and energy want
to go next, you have dedicated
connections with your leaders
to make sure you’re hitting those
critical milestones to advance in
your career journey,” she says.
“I’m very privileged to be
mentoring someone,” Lubov adds,
“but I also have a mentor myself.
We are able to lean on the advice
and guidance of senior mentors
and take advantage of the many
different professional workshops
available.
