Mining Association and the
Mining Safety Round Table,” says
Stinson. “Internally, I collaborate
with my team of sustainability
managers and safety superintendents from each site. Together,
we continuously reinvent how we
work. Challenging the status quo is
what we do.”
Quinn joined IAMGOLD seven
years ago, and she has found that
her initial image of mining is not
at all what exists today. “There has
been transformation in this sector,
and with natural resources one
of the top priorities of the federal
government, it is more essential
than ever before,” says Quinn.
“Everything we use — if we don’t
grow it — we mine it. This sector is
attracting people who are forward
thinking and want to make a
tangible difference.”
