EXECUTIVE EDITOR
Kristina Leung,
Staff at the Alberta Securities Commission / ASC gather at the organization’s spring social to celebrate
colleagues’ career milestones.
W
e are pleased to present the 2026
edition of Alberta’s Top Employers,
which recognizes the organizations
that lead their peers in creating
exceptional workplaces and best-inclass employment benefits and programs. In a province
distinguished by its strong economy and the country’s
fastest employment growth, this year’s winners set a high
bar in offering exceptional HR benefits and programs for
employees.
Alberta’s continued population growth and strong
economy have intensified competition for employees with
hard-to-find skills. The employers on this year’s list have
responded by placing greater emphasis on workforce
planning, internal skills development, and long-term
capability building among their employees. Across nearly
every sector in Alberta, there’s clear evidence of sustained
investment in training, individualized career advancement
programs, and organizational initiatives that reward not
performance but continuity as well.
A consistent theme at this year’s Alberta winners is the
strengthening of structured learning and professional
development programs for employees. Many organizations have expanded their onboarding programs, increased support for continuing education, and formalized
skills development pathways. These initiatives reflect a
recognition that skills adaptability and continuous
learning have become central to maintaining organizational effectiveness in an employment landscape where
job qualifications are changing rapidly.
Another notable trend among this year’s winners is the
increased tailoring of health and wellness benefits to
employees’ own needs. Nearly half of this year’s Alberta
winners offer flexible benefit programs that allow
employees to tailor coverage to their individual circumstances. This approach represents a more pragmatic and
sustainable model of employee support – one that
accommodates diverse needs while maintaining consistency and cost discipline across the organization.
Demographic factors also play an important role in
shaping the winners’ priorities. Alberta has the youngest
workforce in Canada, which places more importance on
mentorship programs, early-career development, and
clearly defined advancement pathways. The best employers focus on creating environments where employees can
build skills, assume greater responsibility over time, and
establish long-term careers within the organization.
In addition to the best practices found in this announcement magazine, our editors have published detailed
‘reasons for selection’ explaining why each of the Alberta
winners was chosen. You can view this reasons at: www.

We extend our sincere congratulations to each of
Alberta’s Top Employers (2026). Your leadership, resilience,
and commitment to employees set the standard for the
employers we will write about tomorrow. As Alberta’s
population continues to grow and its economy strengthens, today’s winners are shaping not only their own
success, but the future of the province itself.
