ver 25 years ago, the Canada’s Top 100 Employers
project set out to start a national conversation about
work and workplaces. The aim was to show what the
country’s best employers offered in terms of benefits
and culture by shining a light on their best practices
and encouraging others to raise the bar. Today, in the face of challenging times and rapid technological change, the conversation
remains as relevant as ever.
Employers selected for this year’s competition lead their industry
in offering progressive programs and policies, actively seeking to
address employee concerns through engagement. They leverage
feedback for policy change and benefit enhancements, demonstrating that even in uncertain times, their commitment to their
people is unwavering.
The methodology to determine Canada’s Top 100 Employers is
based on a comparison of employers in similar industries, region,
and size. Employers are evaluated on eight selection criteria,
which have remained consistent since the project’s inception: (1)
Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial
& Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills
Development; and (8) Community Involvement.
Canada’s Top 100 Employers is a national competition. Any employer with its head office or principal place of business in Canada may apply regardless of size, whether private or public sector.

While the principal selection criteria remain consistent, the scope
of these criteria has extended to reflect evolving benefits and
workplace practices and trends. Examples include expanded
time-off policies, flexible work options, health and wellness programs, and workplace safety.
